It’s been another busy month at NeonWorks HQ, with neon, lettering and even PPE being shipped to customers as far as Norway!

With that in mind, we thought it was about time we launched a brand-new blog series, which looks at some of the highlights from the past few weeks. So, without further ado…

A selection of signs for Rise at Seven

Rise at Seven SEO neon signs

When specialist creative SEO agency, Rise at Seven, moved into a shiny new Sheffield office, the trendy space called for no less than seven illuminated signs – including a mixture of LED neon and neon XTRA.

Sending a videographer along to our HQ to catalogue the process (watch this space), we installed the new decor earlier this week, and it’s safe to say everyone was impressed with the results. Carrie Rose, co-founder and creative director said: “When me and Stephen Kenwright made the original Rise at Seven business plan, on the list was to one day have our logo in lights. Today that came true. Thank you, NeonWorks!”

Birthday surprises for Le Mans superfan – and racing driver

Le Mans 24 Hours - neon sign

British racing driver Jody Fannin has been a friend of NeonWorks’ founder, Mark Davies, for as long as we can remember. So, when it came to planning the perfect gift for his birthday Jody’s dad, Terry, pulled out all the stops.

Having made the pilgrimage to the Circuit de la Sarthe every year since Jody was a little lad – be it to compete or spectate – and given the pair were unable to travel to the Le Mans 24 Hours due to COVID-19 restrictions, his dad came up with this rather stylish substitute. If we do say so ourselves. Happy birthday, Jody!

Ice cream for the big screen

Neon Ice Cream light

In the words of Snoop Dogg: “When I’m no longer rapping, I want to open an ice cream parlour and call myself Scoop Dogg.”

While we can’t confirm, or deny, that this ice cream neon is going to be featuring in a biopic of the man himself, what we do know is, this sweet treat is headed for West London Film Studios – and a starring role.

Cuddles in the Kitchen and Daddy’s Kitchen

It was all about the culinary-themed signs this month, with one Arctic Monkeys-inspired neon and a second which was hand-delivered to a local lady.

For the latter, we were humbled to learn that we had been chosen to create an incredibly special piece of interior decoration. While we’ll respect her privacy and keep the story behind the sign under wraps, this one warmed our hearts a fair bit.

Introducing our friends, Opulent Mill

We’ve recently teamed up with fellow Yorkshiremen, Opulent Mill, a flower wall company based just down the road from us in West Yorkshire, to provide a little bit of something ‘extra’ to their superb large-format interior design decor. Specialising in permanent installations and hires, we’re excited to welcome them to the NeonWorks family.

B is for… Norway?

Our first international order shipped to Norway recently, with a colour-changing letter ‘B’ headed for independent retail store developer, Butikkutvikler.

Passionate about helping small businesses – just like ours – to flourish, we were delighted to work on this one, chalking up our very first customer outside of the UK at the same time.

Sneeze screens for a Barnsley business

Although our name might suggest otherwise, we don’t *just* make neon signs. As well as all-manner of built up lettering and wall graphics, we’ve also seen high demand for acrylic sneeze screens – as businesses have made their workplaces Covid-secure.

And, in a break from usual programming, here’s how we’ve been helping to get this Barnsley office ready to welcome back its staff safely.

and other stories…

With every one of our LED neon and block acrylic signs made to order, we can work with you to find exactly the right content for you. Drop us a line today, or take a look at our neon sign creator tool, to get you started.
